Start with the reason for going
CODOMOWA planning suggestion
Atami: our first shortlist for a short coastal reset with an indoor pool. Yatsugatake: our pick when the wave pool and children’s water-play area are the main attraction. Nasu: our pick for farm activities, forest time and indoor play. Nasu’s swimming-pool operation is unverified in this guide, so it should not be chosen on a swimming assumption. These are planning judgments, not promises that one hotel suits every child.

Official information
Atami: Tokyo Station to Atami by Shinkansen, then a roughly 15-minute shuttle with same-day inbound registration. Yatsugatake: Shinjuku to Kobuchisawa by Azusa, then a roughly 5-minute shuttle with no reservation. Nasu: Tokyo Station to Nasushiobara by Shinkansen, then a shuttle reserved at least three days ahead. The official access page gives approximately 35 minutes for the shuttle, while the overview gives 40 minutes. These are differing published estimates, not a guaranteed 35–40-minute range. Do not compare headline “from Tokyo” times as hotel-to-hotel journeys: departure stations, waiting and shuttle frequency differ.

Official information
The listed room-capacity ranges are Atami 1–6, Yatsugatake 1–5 and Nasu 1–4. They are property-wide ranges, not the capacity of every room. Atami and Yatsugatake list bed-sharing through age 6; Nasu’s detailed Japanese guidance includes preschool ages 0–6, but its English overview differs. Confirm that case directly. Buffet child bands do not apply automatically to course restaurants. Yatsugatake pool access also depends on your booked plan.

Yatsugatake pool supervision
Il Mare is described as an all-weather, year-round pool with waves and a children's area. For children 12 and younger, an accompanying guardian must be 18 or older, wear swimwear and enter the water. The maximum is three children per guardian. Swimming diapers plus swimsuits are required for children not toilet-trained. Yatsugatake pool rules

One night or two?
CODOMOWA planning suggestion
One night works best as one chosen hotel experience with a simple arrival and return. Two nights buy a full day without moving luggage, which can be more valuable than adding another attraction. Before committing, imagine the whole departure morning: breakfast, packing, children getting ready, check-out and the shuttle. If that feels rushed, shorten the sightseeing plan or stay longer rather than squeezing in more reservations.

Use the same dates, adults, real child ages, bedding needs and meals for every quote. Check pool passes, activity charges, local taxes, payment timing and cancellation terms. Nasu’s accommodation tax began on 1 October 2026. Retrieved official versions differ on OTTO SETTE NASU child-course terms and prices; the conditions applicable to your stay remain unresolved. Before booking, give the hotel each child’s age and your dining date, and confirm the price and course details. We do not publish a cheapest-hotel claim or a room-availability promise. Which one is best for every family?
There is no single winner. Start with the child’s preferred activity and the transfer your family can comfortably manage, then check room and meal fit.
